LRF – Radio Frequency Laboratory
  • New IC under test!

We received new chips containing our last designs. The circuits are under test in the laboratory!

  • Master’s thesis defense

Today, the graduate student Roddy Romero defended his master’s thesis entitled “Duty-Cycle Controlled Variable-Gain”.

  • Joint Meeting with Embeeded Systems Group

This month, the graduate student Roddy Romero presented his work on low-power biopotential front-ends  during the joint meeting between our group and the UFSC Embedded Systems Group (GSE). (See his presentation)

  • Chip in Brasilia 2012

Graduate and undergraduate students of our group participated of the main Brazilian conference  on microlectronics. The Chip in Brasília 2012 was s a joint event promoted by the Microelectronics Brazilian Society(SBMICRO) and Computer Brazilian Society (SBC/CECCI).

    Our students presented three works:

    • A 40 mV/4 uW CMOS Colpitts Oscillator With Additional Positive Feedback at 2.12 GHz. (See the work)
    • Design Methodology for Class-E Power Oscillators. (See the poster)
    • A 2.4 GHz Cascode CMOS Low Noise Amplifier. (See the work)

  • 2,4 GHz LNA tested!

New LNA designs were successfully characterized at our lab!

  • ISCAS2012

Our breakthrough work on low voltage electronics was presented at ISCAS 2012 / Seoul: “A 20 mV Colpitts Oscillator powered by a thermoelectric generator”. (poster pdf)
